Black Rock is a single rock in the open sea south of the Great Western Torres and north-east of Lampi Island. It measures between 45 and 60 meters and is the best diving site in the Mergui Archipelago.
The depth of the seabed in anchor distance is about 75 feet. Due to its isolated location it is a congergation place for large fish and giant manta rays. Underwater the rock is overgrown with soft corals and provides a reef habitat to countless species.
A trip to Blackrock means to spend the whole day there because no other place in the immediate reach and the distances have to be covered at night on a diving vessel.
